The AcTherm series calorimeters can measure the heat release rate of reactive substances and are used to determine the thermal hazards of substances and the trend of pressure changes during reactions. They are particularly suitable for determining the safe operating temperature range in chemical production, the self-accelerating decomposition temperature and bulk self-heating temperature, and the ultimate pressure. Accurate data illustrate the worst-case scenarios that may occur during the process.
Main Features of AcTherm:
AcTherm uses standard test cells with a volume of 7-11ml, and can also use larger volume high-pressure test cells. The typical mass range of test samples is 0.5-5g.
Stirring Function:
· The AcTherm series calorimeters are equipped with mechanical stirring devices, which significantly improve the test results for semi-homogeneous or immiscible mixtures.
Direct Detection of Sample Temperature:
· The AcTherm series calorimeters use precise temperature measurement devices to achieve accurate control and measurement of the sample temperature.
Key Characteristics of the Data Obtained:
· Onset of exothermic reactions
· Total enthalpy (or total temperature rise)
· Temperature and pressure changes throughout the process
· Macroscopic reaction kinetics parameters
· Time to maximum rate (TMR)
Self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT)
